Topic awaiting preservation: OsCommerce

Anyone here have any experience with this piece of software. I am trying to sell digital downloads, but cannot, for the life of me, get it to work properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated or if you know of some program that is better for digital download purchasing please let me know.

what exactly doesnt work properly? i've installed oscommerce and also skinned it - everything worked as it should from the start.

and I've dug through it's internals more than I would have cared too... can you be a bit more specific?

I figured out what was going on. The problem was with the download function. I discovered that it was necessary to change the option that downloads are available at the pending state of check out. Other than that everything has worked out well for me.

As a second question, has anyone used STS to build templates? I am considering using it to build 5+ sites that can look very similiar, but with different products. If anyone else has found better success with something else I would be very appreciative.
