Guys and Girls,

I am looking to have my customers purchase a file (digital) and then they can do with it what they will. As of now I am using the download function that is provided by OsCommerce and the file is a .pdf with restrictions on what they can do with it installed. The business concerns that I have is that I want no second hand distribution after the file is downloaded. Of course, the way that I have this setup now, this is allowed. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can limit second hand distribution and replication?

Thanks in advance,

Brennan

On a dead serious level? Not at all - if they can read it, it can be copied.

On a more pratical level (for content owners, that is), pdf digital rights managment might be a way to go.
But you're going to annoy customers...

Third option is of course to be so obscure in content that no two people who'll be both interested in it are
ever likely to meet

Make sure you read this blog entry though.
