I work with a Wiccan. She's a rather laid-back witch. Not really into curses and magic, but she does take a few Wiccan holidays off to celebrate. I asked her the other night, "Did you do anything for the solstice?" She queried right back, "The what?" I answered, "The soltice. The summer solstice, longest day of the year. Full moon and all that." She finally answered my original question with, "I'm a horrible witch, aren't I?" Yeah, she's definitely the laid-back variety of Wiccan. The only day of the year that I celebrate is New year's Eve. I picked New Year's Eve because it's about as close to a global party as you can get. A great deal of the other holidays are seperated by geography, religion, and other things. It's not so much new beginnings for me, but about partying with as many people as possible. How often do (most) folks on this planet unite for a good time? That many people having a good time is cause for celebration.
