Think of how many people use PCs just to surf the internet and do their emails. Also, once these users get the hang of Linux they might install the full OS, not to mention it will make it easier for OEMs like Dell etc to offer Linux (in fact I think many are already doing it). Then if they add OpenOffice and other alternatives to MS products...that would hurt.
