Topic: problem with IE...imagine that

I have this page : http://systelprinting.com/testing/ working just fine it seems in FF. In IE, there seems to be a constant bottom margin between the items.

I thought maybe it was the IE double float problem, but that didn't seem to help.

If someone could help me with the issue that would be great

Why the em element for the background replace technique to achieve: hover, selected, and not selected? Hmmm, maybe I get it. Is it so you can control child elements of the a element on hover? So maybe your css begins to look like:

a b { ... }
a em { .... }

a:hover b { ... }
a:hover em { ... }

I guess the em element is arbitrary, a span element would suffice?

It's so you can style the height and width of the element while keeping it a link. A span element would suffice I am sure. Would probably have to set the margin and padding to 0 to make sure there isn't any extra space, which is why I think he used the em element to achieve this without any extra markup in the stylesheet.
