I know a Flash game developer who might be interested in moving his games to the iPod/iPhone platform, and I was wondering if there was anyone here who does that sort of thing or knows someone who does that sort of thing.

And a happy holidays to all!

Some newly accuired knowledge
You need a developers license to be able to develop, more specifically, to move the app to your iPhone for tests or to apply to get it released in public.

You need to code whatever you are porting in Objective C or oldfashioned C and Cocoa.
The SDK only exists for Mac & OSX 10.5 which includes the complete touchscreen framework.

All distribution goes through Apples Appstore, they in turn reserve the right to deny or retract any application for their own reasons from the store.

For web it's webkit but that part's fairly straight forward, so is interaction with phone/text functionality etc. The SDK has good support for all the normal things you'd want to do.

A senior flash/actionscript developer in my group just did an evaluation project on porting a specific app to iPhone from flash. It's basically a full rewrite that needs to be done.
He had never seen any mac-related development and had a very basic knowledge of C & C++. It took him a couple of weeks to get to know the environment and the available libraries etc, from there on it was normal work in a new language.

He then did an estimate of porting a game like this facebook app we built : http://apps.facebook.com/daredevil/ and said around 4-5 weeks incl testing.

Hope it helps a bit.
