UBB Help
I've been racking my brain for a couple days now, and I'm stumped... I was I was a little more fluent in linux :) I'm trying to update some packages on a couple systems using yum. I tried 'yum install libxml2-devel' first and it returned with "Cannot find valid baseurl for repo: updates-released" Did some searching and found a couple places that said it was likely a DNS issue. Sure enough, I corrected my DNS address, and after a couple tries, it worked. So I move on to the next package, 'yum install ncurses-devel'. It logs the same problem again "Cannot find valid baseurl for repo: updates-released". Double checked DNS again, and I can ping out using hostnames. I looked through /etc/yum.repos.d/ and all seems well (comparing the link against any other forum posts or docs I've found so far). But browsing to the link: http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/4/ gives an empty repository... http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/$releasever/$basearch/ is where fedora-updates.repo is actually looking. http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/ is empty though Any thoughts? Thanks, LF -- Any sufficiently advanced bug is indistinguishable from a feature. [small](Edited by Lord_Fukutoku on 03-04-2009 21:47)[/small]
