Hello

Anyone used / recommends a good / practical digital note taking kit?

I do with a homebrewn application called 'AugmentTP'.
Basically a tree based quick edit note thingy, press Enter to edit a node, Shift enter to add a node at the same level, Ctrl + enter to add one below.
Searching & Tagging, Copy Paste, Drag & Drop, weblinks automatically highlighted, other links with ->node name... (autocompletion)

I use it mainly for all the random tidibits and todo list managment, but I have also had good sucess with using it as a learning aid.
Since it's totaly my brain child it has some weird features, like the ability to insert greek characters and up/download it's data file to a webdav or ssh storage.
(Edit: And 'no explicit saving' coupled with 'unlimited undo' - even if you close the program, transfer the file to another computer, you'll still have your undo stack)

If anybody wants to give it a whirl, it needs .net 2.0 and can be downloaded here.
I'll hopefully get around to release the source later on...
If you want it to use a different data file, just add the filename as first 'command line' parameter in your shortcut.

so long,

Oops my mistake, I meant something like:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw_0_11?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mobile+notetaker&x=0&y=0&sprefix=mobile+note

Or for example a "IOGear GPEN200N Mobile Digital Scribe"

Some gizmo that you use to write on special or normal papers, then you can record your writing to the PC.

@TP: as for something like your software, I am a user of Vault ( http://www.personalmicrocosms.com/Default.aspx )
I did not try Vault3 but bought and still use Vault 2.

I found some videos too:

The thing is, videos are good, but in reality, is what you see what you get?

Please advise.

I take digital notes all day long. I've always been very happy with Microsoft OneNote. FABULOUS program with lots of bells & whistles. Even supports a mobile version for moving notes from a PDA onto a laptop/desktop.

pretty groovy app TP. I'll use that on my work computer. At home I use TomBoy.

Hrmmm neat.

I don't understand why so many use JPEG, though, or have more than just the pen.
