Topic: PS Color not same in browser

I'm saving an image as a jpeg hex 303030 (rgb 48,48,48) and in the browser it displays as 333333 (51,51,51).
The background of my site is faithfully reproduced as 303030 using CSS...why is PS saving the jpeg to another color?

edit: Just realized that the colors are fine in IE7. The problem is in FF3.5 (RC2)

I have been away form such things for quite a while now, but last I knew, JPEG compression was notoriously bad at this.

THat's why we always used .gifs or .pngs for solid colors...

Actually it's a photograph with a color border...that's why I'm stuck with a jpg.

Most likely whatever you're saving with is saving more information than you'd like it to (like gamma information).
