Some of you might have seen [url=http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=53871]Spongy[/url], the 128b DOS intro raymarching a Menger Sponge. Well, once I picked my jaw from the floor I wondered how big/small such effect could be in JavaScript. My gut feeling was saying 512 bytes but aiming for a very small footprint dictated to go brute force and I wasn't sure how to get a decent framerate for something actually working in base 3 ( in a Menger Sponge you divide the current cube in 3x3x3 and recurse ). So, without further ado, here comes [url=http://www.p01.org/releases/512b_jspongy/]JSpongy[/url] a level 5 Menger Sponge raymarcher in 512 bytes. Hope you like it. PS: it works best in Chrome and Firefox.
