Your Text: Insert Slimies » Insert UBB Code » Close Last Tag \| All Tags UBB Help	I've posted this on the HP forum but thought I'd try here too. It's been driving me nuts for several days now. Seems that any cure I find on the HP site requires the Compaq operating system. But surely the's another way... Presario 3000 Notebook Model 3017cl Cannot install "other Devices" - Multimedia Audio Controller - Network Controller - PCI Modem - Video Controller. Not perhaps as straight forward as it might seem... or should be. Did a full format and complete install, after insidious "infections." Used original disks, Operating System and Quick restore. BUT the Quick Restore crashes on the 3rd disk with an error message something to the effect that either a file is corrupted or cannot find 'image' I think it said. Did this no fewer than 3 times. Anyway... I end up at good ol' C:\ So I used another but different version of XP with SP2 and that's what's running now. There is no longer a partition on C: where I presume some of the original restore info was stored. I don't particularly want to go through the Quick Restore again and end up with all that stuff I don't need nor want. Just want to reinstall "Other Devices."
