I'm working on a new project that will allow developers to make a data intense web app using all client side code. You start with a GUI to build the database. Then to interact you use the REST API with AJAX. So to do something like a tweet you'd use:
POST http://servercyde.com/TwitterApp.com/Table/Tweets
Content: msg=Hello World Cookie:
UserID=8975687659
Referer = http://twitterapp.com

The key is combining a RESTful DB with the essential tools needed to build a secure site, like session management, encryption services, and email that make it a turn key solution. This allows a startup to get going with potentially just a designer that also knows javascript!

Let me know what you think of the idea. We're building it out now and if we get a good enough response we'll be ready to launch in a few weeks for testing.

Hard to tell these days.

Not trying to be. Yes it is a business, but we really do want to hear from the people who might use it. So if you check it out and think it's a bad idea or good idea let me know. Or if you think there is something you'd like to see let me know too. Or if you think the idea of outsourcing the server side code to the 'cloud' is dumb that works too. But not trying to be spammy.
