Topic awaiting preservation: Looking for a movie...

Sometime ago I was watching a movie and I can't for the life of me find it. Mayhaps help?

Unfortunately, I can't remember any of the actors/acresses in it. Nobody I have ever heard of before. Or even close to recognizing haven been in other movies.

Two main charactors, a guy and girl, and takes place in a high school.

The guy comes from "the wrong side of the tracks". Drunk chavenistic father that keeps his daughter as his beck and call. There is also an older brother that follows his father in being domineering. The main guy wears a denim jacket (I think... or a hoodie) and has a rep for being a bad boy of sorts.

The girl is an ace student and I believe is a cheerleader. Preppy and in with the good crowd.

The two are kind of thrown together and are at odds, but eventually start to bond. Something about art or poetry or something similiar.

In one scene in particular, they are in study hall together and share a table. The girl brings an apple even though food is not allowed. Then they start throwing notes at each other using a notebook. One writes in the notebook and literally flings it at the other.

That is about as far as I got and I would really like to finish it.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Gahhh! Sounds like a dozen or so teenie "don't be part of the crowd" sort of films...

You know, with the "loser" and the "incrowd" princess sort of love thing.

I started watching it some months ago and I gave up. But the urge to finish it struck me recently. It is slow and cliche, but I enjoyed some of the writing and scenes. The scene in study hall with the notebook brought back a lot of memories and had me laughing pretty good.

I need closure with that movie.

I originally started watching it on NetFlix streaming. I didn't think that this would have any bearing on the search, so I didn't mention it. I took a quick look and it is out of the Netflix stream rotation. :sigh: Heh.

When it comes to searching, I can usually hold my own. For some reason it didn't occur to me to use usual tricks. As if searching for a movie was a completely foreign idea to me. Talk about a brain fart.

Yes, theme is cliche and all that. But I found myself idenitifying very strongly with a lot of little things. To each his own.

Oh, even the mighty Shaman is not immune to the teeny stuff.

I must admit that I did consider which character, but I don't know nearly enough. I thoroughly enjoy The Breakfast Club, but I can't say that I can identify with any of them in particular on a personal level. Girlie #1 is almost old enough to appreciate it me thinks. (She seems to enjoy British humour and it is damn near time to introduce her to Holy Grail.)

I recently discovered 10 Things I Hate About You. The movie was kind of okay, but I find that I am enjoying the television series so much more.
