silence, you're a bit low on your staffing estimate there. in a high end studio you're usually broken down into groups/individuals doing modeling, character animation, effects/procedural animation, lighting, surfacing/texturing, and technical directors. everything is pretty self-explanatory with the exception of TDs, who are generally assigned to a specific area and whose job varies according to that area. you've got lighting TDs, character set-up TDs, effects TDs, etc., and their job is sort of a mixture of code and art used to solve any technical problems the animators they're working with encounter.

those titles are just a ballpark tho, as a general rule the smaller the studio the more hats you wear.

ILM uses mostly softimage xsi for their character work, tho maya, lightwave, electric image, and just about everything else under the sun plus a whole lot of proprietary software is used as well.
