DVD

  • Lilo & Stitch (Great movie. Nice to see brown people on the big screen. I think that's why it touched me so much. No offense intended.)
  • Blade 2 (About on par with the first, but with better action.)
  • The Thing (Classic John Carpenter)
  • The Bourne Identity (A fairly good adaptation of the book considering what they had to cut out to get it to fit into a 2 hour running time. I also enjoyed the way they updated the technology; it's a great contrast when you've read the book.)
  • Bedazzled
  • The Five Heartbeats (I love this movie. I mean it. I used to watch it once a day but now I'm down to a few times a month.)
  • Monsters, Inc. (The special features on this disc rock.)
  • Ice Age (Again, special features are awesome.)
  • Austin Powers: Goldmember (It is getting a bit old, but if you're in the right mood it's pretty funny.)
  • Men of Honor (Damn good movie, and Cuba and DeNiro give amazing performances.)
  • Resident Evil (Milla Jovovich kicking ass. Nuff said. )

* Lord of The Rings - My brother bought me that and a DVD player this last Christmas, as I was the last person he knew who didn't have one yet.

* Mystery Science Theater 3000: Mitchell - Joe Don Baker, at his most Elvis-ish. If you don't own this DVD, for God's sake, get it! It's now been Scientifically proven that people who don't find it funny don't have a soul.

* El Dorado - John Wayne. Robert Mitchum. James Caan with a shotgun. Aw yeah...

* Young Frankenstein - Gene Wilder, gotta love it.

* UHF - Weird Al's one and only movie. A cult classic. Buy it now!

* Blazing Saddles - Love this movie. Got it as a gift about a year before I got the DVD player...

* The Matrix - Why own a DVD player if you don't have this movie?

I can't even begin.

I've got well over 400 DVDs in my collection now. It's ridiculous really. I'm an addict. I can't help myself. My most recent purchases are Spirited Away and Castle in the Sky. If I ever manage to get organized and write up all my DVDs, I'll post it on an HTML page somewhere and link you to it... otherwise it would probably fill an entire page of this thread.

Hey HS, is Spirited Away any good?

My animation lectruer recommended it to me when I was asking about certain ways to do 2D animation and well, none of the video rental stores round my parts stock it so my only option is to buy it. Is it worth it the money, given that I don't buy these things just because they have a DVD logo on em?
