Topic awaiting preservation: freezing (Page 1 of 1)

Just recently my computer started freezing when I would try to play a game. Couldn't press esc, ort ctrl+alt+del. It seems to be any game and I don't know why. I'm thinking that maybe my cpu is overheating, so I'm going to try running a temperature monitor while doing it, but if anyone knows why please help me.

when cpu overheats, ur comp freezes anywhere, not just in games. If it only happens in games, I would suggest you check your video card. Maybe memory, but unlikely. Could be anything, even the drivers for VC. But try replacing your videocard with some other one (from a friend, or other compuer?) and see how it behaves then.

If you have a 3d card check it too and see if it in turn is overheating.

I faced such problems time ago and it was my voodoo3 card...I had to install on it a fan to solve my problem
