Topic awaiting preservation: WoW

sorry if i'm being redundant ... but has anyone seen the stuff they're doing for World of Warcraft? As a person who's been playing Everquest and other MMORPG's for a very very very long time... this comes as a breath of fresh air to me, developed by some of my peers who even play on my server in Everquest, WoW promises to be great from graphics to game play. Was wondering if anyone here was into the genre? I absolutely love it.

I found Furor's review on www.fohguild.org to be especially useful. Beware of some cursing on this webpage. Furor is a very famous player in Everquest, and Tigole is as well. Tigole plays(or played) on my home server in EQ and is a developer for the game i believe. The characters look beautiful.. though i am a wee bit disappointed with the dwarf models. But thats only a minor discretion.

BTW: i highly highly highly recommend watching the videos included on the official site, very very amazing stuff. Old Graphics card and low RAM'ers beware if you plan on playing this game.

Anyone wanna play after reading the website and the reviews? Anyone change their mind?

On a side note, anyone considered playing EQ2? As i've been playing the original EQ for about 3 years, it just doesn't seem as inticing now.

I ahven't seen much on WooW... I was on the Playstation 2 Beta test team for EQ though... That's a fun game. I haven't started a regular account yet but I'm looking forward to getting into it when I have time... That means never by the way.

I've been more interested in 1.10 for Diablo II. They have started really pushing in some cool directions with it. The news section on the Battle.Net Page has some info on new items and skill shifts that they are making.

i played D2 for about 2 years... it got riddled with Hacks and Cheats and "dupes" and whatnot. and it eventually lost its fervor for me. i used to have one of the best druids on east... was fun while it lasted. its nice that they're addressing things like that.

and GD: by EQ2 i didn't mean the PS EQ release.. i meant the second game for PC.... to me the Playstation EQ version pales in comparison to the real thing. thats just me though.

WoW looks good, but I'm more interested in Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne

I've never liked MMORPGs, I think it is the thing about paying money for playing the game after you've bought that puts me off. I tried Anarchy Online when it was released, but even though it was good I didn't feel it was worth the expenses of playing it...

The MMORPG I'm waiting for is Final Fantasy 11. WC3: Frozen Throne should be interesting. The reason I mention the EQ online for PS2 is that it's free. At least for now.

Sanzen: I understand that. I was just mentioning my only experience with EQ. I believe EQ is free on PS2.
