Hi, I downloaded a document *form* from a forms website, it is in PDF format. The thing is encrypted so I can only print it out and manually type in the fields. When I was in Photoshop school the instructor 'touched' on overriding this *security measure*.....I can't find my notes right now and I want to be able to OPEN the document and fill in the blanks using my computer. Can someone assist with this? Thank you, LCooper

First: Read this :FAQ: Hi I'm new here (at the Ozone Asylum) what do I need to know?

Second: If you are actually asking us to illegal hack a 'encrypted' pdf file you are at the wrong place. That is, asking for anything illegal will not work here.

Do you have a link to the forms page? so people can check the rules if they know a way to help you?
Also why not asking the teacher again?

If you like to stay someone will bring you some pills and a straight jacket soon.

Thanks for the response....I didnt think I was doing anything ILLEGAL. I downloaded a page from a FREE...*FREE* website, I paid for the privilege by giving the host my name and email address and agreeing to read his real estate newsletter. The download said "free form--down load here", I downloaded it and found it could be printed out and not written to. Now, I know I can print it out and scan it into my scanner and upload it into Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or Microsoft word, I just wanted a shortcut.
I DID do a SEARCH on the FAQ page and typed in PDF just to get an idea on what subjects were broached here...and also on Encrypt and Encryption and Security....and I did not come up with anything useful.....so, if you have a USEFUL suggestion, I would appreciate it. If this is not the right forum, I would appreciate a hint at where I might search....lcooper

By the way....this is the link to the FREE form I downloaded.... http://www.legalwiz.com/forms2.htm

and the only reason I selected this forum was that A) the file is a PDF and B) I took a couple of Photoshop classes that converted PDF and PSD's and C) I was not sure where else to check!
thanks again, Lcooper

You know......lol, you guys really ARE NUTS!!!!! lol, instead of editing my posts...like some one isnt smart enough to scan and edit, you could have looked at the link that I sent and clicked on the security key and SAW that the document IS fully editable (FORM FILL IN...ALLOWED, FORM CHANGED....ALLOWED), by the owner.
And maybe given me a little help since I am a bit rusty on this stuff....oh well, live and learn.

Hey lcooper keep your painties on. You could also edit your posts. Posting 4 times in one thread right after each other is not realy needed and not realy nice.

I was not suggesting you were doing something illegal, i just made sure you did know the rules around here.
When is not illegal to open an encrypted pdf i am sure someone here who can, will help you.
However i don't know if anyone is able or willing to help you.

Oh the mod's (Mad-Scientists and Psychotics) never edit a post whitout a reasson.

If you are still with me i hope for you all the best and i do hope someone is able to help you.

Petskull, thanks for fixing my post.
What is not nice about posting in a row....???
I logged off, tryed something, then logged back on to comment on it.
anyway, to make a long story much shorter, I fixed the document in question and got it to the Notary and then to the County Recorder on time...I was kind of in a tight place on my house re-fi.
sorry for the bother.

.................................See these icons ^^^^^^^^^

One of them is Edit [Emp edit: This one --> ]. You can use it to edit your posts at anytime, no matter what. You can post, log-off, go to the crapper, and still come back and re-edit it later.

It's generally considered good ettiquette to simply add to your original post if no one has responded yet. It makes things easier to read for the rest of us.

lcooper, yes we are a little nuts around here. they don't let us out much.

glad that you solved your problem. But, sometimes people don't know how the Asylum and Mad-Sci's work, could think that things are a little outta hand. But, no one will edit your post unless it is REALLY bad. Then most of the time it is left alone for the good Doc to take care of.

But, back on topic. Good that you fixed your problem and hopefully got your house re-financed. I have a house for sale if you wanna nother

Later,
