today i did some tests with a preloading script. i first tested it in IE(the browser i hate) and everything worked fine. i also looke up in the cache...in XP its...my name and then temporary internet files
well, after i checked the same thin in mozilla, it seemed to work, but.....i couldn't see the files in the cache folder mentioned above.
so, does mozilla has got its own cache?

I would have assumed so, and your tests seem to indicate it.
At least netscape (the old ones...) always had their own cache, and opera has it's own as well.

I doubt it coordinates with IE, so I'm assuming it does like all the others.

The Mozilla cache folder is specified in the Preferences > Advanced > Cache.

ie coordinates itself with every browser it detects

mozilla's cache exists and is very regular except for the fact that it changes the name of every file to something mostly random and has a reversion table. i.e. you have to look for the table in which you will find the real name of the file and the random new name... or you can just use a directory thumbnail viewer for the file type your after on the cache directory. maybe i'm outdated though, but it certainly used to be like that for mozilla.
