XP does not have SATA drivers built in. Your motherboard should of come with a floppy disk which has the driver you need on it. When the XP installation begins (when the screen turns blue) you will be prompted to press F5 to install special drivers for SCSI, SATA etc. storage devices. Press F5, wait a moment till it asks you to insert the floppy, do so, then continue. The driver will be loaded and you can complete your XP installation as normal. If you don't have a floppy drive getting the SATA driver loaded can be tricky, i.e. you're going to need another working PC with a CD-RW and a floppy drive. Lemme know if you need help with that. |
