Topic awaiting preservation: how do i split up a mpeg file? (Page 1 of 1)

i have a mpeg file which is over 700 megs and i need to back it up on cd as im formatting my comp. I dont usually post here but i see the asylum gives the best help for problems. thanks in advance

Well your best bet would be perhaps a multi-part zip, or file splitter:

You could of course could use any video editing tool to split it into multiple files, but this would require rerendering and would result in a quality loss.

There is this tool, I haven't tried it but looks interesting and might be of some use, and it cheap.
