Just received this e-mail in reference to an article I wrote almost two years ago. All it said was ...

quote:
Why did your write about Boomland. I can't tell what you re trying to accomplish?

I gave him the usual smart-ass answer masked behind kind patience, but really ... "accomplish"? What is it I'm supposed to be trying to accomplish?

This is such a strange question to me.

I guess he/she did not like the article or did not understand it.
Maybe you should send him an old 10" rocket for using at a special occasion (which ofcourse will never come).

You would think that the title, "The Big Waste of Space", would explain it.
I don't really care for the questioning of motives.
Why does he want to know?

I was wandering back from the Spar (24 hour shop) at about 1 in the morning and I was walking past a group of late teens and one of the girls lunged from the group and grabbed my arm and said 'I don't know where you are coming from?'. Not wishing to get into a metaphyscial conversation I said 'Over there' and pointed back towards the shop and while she was struggling to digest that one I wandered off into the night.

Moral of the story - people are stupid (or something).

yes the article does seem kind of pointless, until one notices the address at the very top... that kid probably didnt notice the address, or lived right next to Boomland and it was no novelty for him. But it enlightened me... now I know where people buy fireworks

nice ad, Wes...

I loved fireworks when I was growing up. Loved the colors, the smell of gun powder, the sounds...

The new shells are amazing.

I wanted to go to school to learn their secrets and make them for a living (I lived about 2 miles from Ohio Fireworks) but my family thought it was too dangerous and refused to pay for my college unless I studied something else. Funny thing is once I started college, they couldn't help me out so I had to get by on loans and grants... Oh well...

Gee, I wish someone would question my motivations...

That being said, I always find it deliciously ironic when someone questions the motives of someone who put something up on a personal website...
