Oh those were the days, remember them well.......I had an Amiga 500, 600, 600+ and 2000 an collected tons of those demos. Very talented guys who can push the limts of what was available.

I like haujobb, I would have to say that 'mikroStrange' is my favorite, but I'm oldschool..

I personally like Conspiracy-they're pretty new and they're hungarian, but I won't hold that against them...

Anything Haujobb has done is great

The best demo/intros I've seen so far is Pleace The Cookie Thing and Heaven7. Both of them old ones, but that is part of what makes them great. Seeing what they managed to get the computers to prduce back then. VIP2 is another great demo worth checking out...

I like 'please the cookie thing' (by the way, wasn't that by aardbei?).... I *especially* loved the loading screen- the way it loaded in a circle..

...and I liked how it left the images in the dir with which I would send greets to myself!

You're right. It is Aarbei that did PTCT, but is still a great intro

Hasn't the "old school" demo scene kinda been replaced with something more interactive?

I mean, when computers were still new, visual and audio effects were all the rage, but the sheer amount of experimental flash sites around like praystation kind of signalled a new era for those pushing the boundaries of multimedia as a highly interactive art form.

I know there are still a lot of groups doing things the old fashioned way, but I also think it's interesting to see what the less programming orientated people can come up with given today?s highly accessible multimedia tools.
http://surface.yugop.com/ is probably one of my favourite because all of the work there is so incredibly simply to do, but it's the way it's uses that really makes it special. Check out numbers 14, 16 and 32, their all horribly simple yet beautiful at the same time.

Although, mine-control are my current favourites for "pushing the boundaries" so to speak in terms of multimedia computing. I think the entire multimedia scene would benefit from more highly interactive installation works.
