As it seems a lot of inmates are coffee addicts... I just wanted to know what type of coffee you prefered, and which brand you are used to use. If by any luck it makes me discover a new brand...

Personally, regarding normal coffee, my favorite is San Marco.

As to expresso, I prefer an unknown Colombian brand imported directly in France.

I like both of them as much.

What about you ?

mmm... i love coffee but i mostly drink instant coffee (Folgers)

i personally love the flavored coffees (most of their coffees actually) that Gevalia has. they're worth checking out. kind of spendy, but a nice treat on occassion

How can you drink that stuff? Hopefully the instant coffee where you live is better than what they got here, since the ones I've tasted are terrible.

There isn't one espresso flavour that I prefer above all others, but among the best flavours are Java and French roasted Malagar. Pretty different in taste, but I love 'em both

For normal coffee I'm happy as long as it is as black as possible. I usually go with Löfbergs Lila's Mörk Rost or their Cajun coffee. Those name probable mean nothing to those living outside Sweden...

Maxwell House - Columbian Blend (filtered)
Maxwell House - Original (instant)

Back in the UK, it was Nescafe (instant) think it might be the same as Maxwell House instant here in the USA, just a different brand name (same maker?)

Personally I detest coffee and all it's counter parts. But my step-dad and mother drink the Folgers that come in the big cans mixed with some Chocolate Macadamian Nut flavored coffee.

actually...i started on the instant coffee thing when i was in australia and it's just stuck. i don't mind it and i like that i can make my first cup in the morning super strong (it'll peel paint) and not be stuck with a whole pot like that. plus i put in hazelnut creamer and it makes it really really yummmmmy

i generally brew starbucks or community coffee at home (community is a louisiana brand we get here in the south, pretty good stuff), the starbucks is often "dontated" by one of a few friends of mine who work at starbucks and have more coffee than they know what to do with i'll occasionally also buy from a chain of coffee shops down here called diedrich's, they've got some good stuff as well.

what i really want is a french press, just to experiment with.

I once went an entire week without *any* caffeine just to see if I could. It turns out that I am perfectly capable of doing it... it's just that at the end of the week I couldn't think of any good reason to continue! HA!!! I mean what would be the point when I love coffee as much as I do?

Nescafe instant here. Making a pot of filter would be a waste as i'm never in one place long enough to drink it all.
first thing in the morning though I could be drinking soot for all I know until the senses kick in

My favourite used to be International Roast (do you guys have that in the US and in Europe?) Note that I say "used to", because I gave it up about six months ago. Don't know whether I should be getting better or not, though.

Current faves - Caribou for the chain stores, the coffee is roasted locally and tastes nummy. Tried Starbucks for awhile, and couldn't justify spending that much money for something that tasted like Tasters Choice Instant... (That and no one knew how to make a decent Mocha.) At home, we use Millstone (Kaluha flavored, and Peppermint flavored), Caribou and also Gevalia - all whole bean. All this talk of coffee... I think I'm gonna go make a pot... mmmm...

lallous - I've tried a Turkish style coffee... it was quite bitter and very strong, are Arabic coffees similar?

The wrong kind, Yannah... the wrong kind.

Starbucks is a franchise in the states (at least the states, I don't know of anywhere else) that has coffee that is way to high priced for its quality IMHO.

As for my tastes... read MD's post again. since her fridge is my fridge too

Nope. They've gone way international, from what I've heard. Didn't they set one up right in the middle of the Forbidden City in Beijing or something? Or were they forced to take it down?

[*sigh*]

I've never had to / been into a Starbucks... I'm so deprived. I used to drink filter coffee, but I'm too lazy now so I drink instant.

At work I have no choice but to drink bog-standard Nescafe and at home I drink Kenco (I think) instant in little sticks, there's 3 different types in the box. I forget now, I usually drink tea.
