Topic awaiting preservation: Power Cord ?

We have lost the power cord to our glass saw. It is the same type of male/female 3 prong cord used with computers. I have several of these computer cords but as I look on the female end I see different specifications. One reads; "10a 125V" - another;"10a 250v" .

Can either of these cords safey be used with an electric motor specs of which are; "0.5a 115v" (60Hz) ? Will it harm the motor?

The ratings for the cords are higher, so either should be fine.
If the ratings for the cords are lower, then you run the risk of a melt down and maybe even a fire, not to mention possible damage to equipment.

Thang-Q. =) Working like a charm. Cutting glass with a saw is always amazing...angles that otherwise be impossible....and ta da!.... carefully of course.

Glass-saw? Interesting...never seen one of those myself...but I'm betting my uncle, who does lead-lighting for a living, has one.

Used to have a wet saw. We had a dinky little one for cutting 1/4" ceramic tile. Much better than scoring and trying to break. I saw big wet saw before - talk about a fast cutting monster. One little slip and it's bye bye finger, which is true for most power saws.

You've got me curious as to why you are cutting glass, NJ. I'm in a mood to be nosey.

N0.... this is not industrial strength stuff here and for work my wife does, at this point, this works very well. Not that my wife does schlocky work (25 plus years) just that for the intricate cuts around a fish eye or small rose petal this will do for now. She has 3 windows on the go ... salmon in kelp... a frank loyd wright geo design and 3 roses from full open to small bud. She very much enjoys the botanical stuff.

One of the neat things with this particular saw (sez NJ rubbing his mits)... is that you can get different bits of equipment and simply switch out the motor. This of course will likely have to be done under the cover of darkness. <lol>

That's cool. My mother does that kind of thing. It helps keep her calm.

If I had one of those, I would use it for everything. Like those loose strands dangling from the bottom of my old jeans. Or freeze one of my old boots in ice, make a thin slice, photo it, and scan. Eventually have a cool 3d type deal of an old boot along the lines of Project Adam(?). Or for converting a 3-prong plug to a 2-prong plug ala Tim Allen.
