Heh, I've used iTunes in about every single major version, and it's never auto deleted them from my Hard Drive. If you're on a Mac, in OS9, try looking in your HD, Documents folder, iTunes, and see if you can locate them around there. When I delete something from a playlist, it just takes it out of the playlist but keeps it in my 'Library' (delete something from the library and it's gone from the playlists). |

My friend had a problem with iTunes reorganizing his music folders. Maybe that's related to your problem of iTunes deleting files when you delete them from your library. In his case, the solution was to not tell iTunes where his music was stored, and to simply add the files into the library from a remote location. |

The only problem I ever had with iTunes was it once seemingly got a few files confused, so some tunes in one playlist became tunes that I had recently imported, but that was easily fixable by deleting those files, using the "get track names" thingy on the existing files, and doing it over. Maybe it's a related problem to the one above. *shrug* |

Itunes is a good program, but I use Audion. Both are nice programs, unfortunately Audion is Mac only. |

And for those of you who are artistically inclined you can get the iTunes Visual Plug-ins SDK for Windows from here: |

Emps: Not sure if it does things differently than the registry hack, but have you tried TweakUI? |

kuckus: Bingo - that did it. I was able to add WA2 in there. Also adding in an iTunes one seems to have forced the DVD to acknowledge that too (it also brings in the iTunes option which was only showing via the CD drive). |
