That's a LOT of porn, shold keep you busy for a while.  Guess now you'd be waiting on your computer to process the information rather than the connection to send it.
Streaming DVDs, hmmm. Mix a computer and a television and guess what, you have online video stores where you pick a movie and watch it immediately. Guess that's just one of many possibilities.

InI: Transporting and processing datas are two different things.
As you said, it's the grid/clustered computing of a task that achieves it faster, not the huge bandwidth alone.
I may be pessimistic but I don't think that grid computing will hit the mass market within the next years/decade. People will not let others "steal" their own computer power and/or will find that intrusive and may fear that anyone could have access to their personnal datas. The SETI@home and similar initiatives rely on people willingly giving cpu time. For that reasons I think grid computing will stay in professionals circles.
So far, grid/cluster computing is mostly done in LAN and the 100Mbps bandwidth ( for the low costs network solutions ) is not really a problem. At least, huge bandwidth could help to increase the size of the clusters in industrial/governmental domains.
Nonetheless, huge bandwidth will provide new ways to access datas. It'll increase the fusion between computers, the internet and the previous medias. Jeez, I can't wait to watch PayPerView streamed DVDs on my fridge

InI: I thought you were doing an analogy to Sony's new buzz word.
Sony have done some hype around the "grid" capability of the PS3. BTW I find that utopian, since every game will try to use as many PS3 as possible so when the children won't have school all the games will look and behave like crap, and who will pay the phone/net bills for all the PS3 used when you play to VirtuaFighter 12 ?
