Topic awaiting preservation: Projected images in free space

Apparently two companies have "upcoming" products that projects images in mid air, and at least the Heliodisplay claims that you'll be able to interact with the image w/o any special equipment.

Sounds cool enough, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. It might turn out to be vapour-ware

yup, that was on slashot a couple of weeks ago. a very interesting technology! can't wait to seeing that live in action
