I am posting this because I would like to see how the masses react to it. Personally, I find it a bit unacceptable, but at the same time realize that this was inevitable. Shes a female, famous, not completely ugly - therefore there must be some nude pics.

I just don't understand how some people can be interested in such things. It's her buiseness, not anybody else's.

I didn't look at the link - being in a place where that would be frowned on.
The whole mess is rediculous. She says she's only released the book/movie deal because the military blew the whole thing out of proportion... I'm sure the money had nothing to do with her decision. But if the media's going to make this girl into the "Operation Enduring Freedom" poster child, it's not surprising to hear that someone's got some nudie pictures of her. (Though, with what I know of graphics, I'd be hard pressed to believe that she actually posed for these...)
I personally think the whole mess is mostly propaganda...

I agree wholeheartedly with Larry Flynt quite frankly.
Although she has been very consistent in trying to make it clear that she is not the hero that people are tying to make her, and that the conditions of here capture and rescue are also not what they have been made out to be, the media and the public have gone apeshit trying to make her into mother theresa in camos....
And hey...if things are going to be protrayed so one-sided and false in the media, why and how is it wrong for someone to offer a differen view....?
Bodhi - the photos aren't shown there, it's just a news article. The article states that these photos were camoes snapped before she went to iraq, while she and some other soldiers were having some R&R. Her topless.
I don't find it hard to beleive, but I honestly don't care either. How many women have at some time or another been topless around other people....? She's human.
And that's all Larry's trying to say. In his own elegant and sophisticated way ( ).

Leave it to Mr. Flynt. If it has to do with nude womenit's out there, he will find it. Just like he was portrayed in the movie saying:
"The only thing I'm guilty of is bad taste."
Personally I agree with DL though. I could care less to see topless photos of her.

Oh - I probably should have looked, but I have to be careful about it. Rather too cautious than not!
It's not that nudie photos of her may exist, it's that there are people who think the world wants to see them. AND - of course, there are the people who actually want to see them...
I feel about this very similarly to the way I feel about the mess over Dale Earnhardt's autopsy photos. Not interested in seeing them, and don't think other people have any real reason other than morbid curiosity. Some things are just better left unviewed.

This isn't exactly similar. These are photos of J-L before the war. I bet Jess even has a publicist. Larry Flynt would be doing good to expose Jessica Lynch. If J-L is in the military, then she was most likely ordered to attend the two events described in the article, otherwise, she is without integrity and needs to be defamed, literally.
quote: Lynch's new torment erupted the day before Veterans Day - and on the same night she made a dramatic appearance at a Manhattan awards event with fellow rescued POW Shoshana Johnson and pop star Britney Spears.
Lynch, walking in public for the first time since her rescue, used crutches to enter the American Museum of Natural History for Glamour magazine's 2003 salute to the "Women of the Year."
J-L isn't a hero like she infers:
quote: "This Glamour Women of the Year event honors heroes," Lynch said. "To me, the real heroes are those who have given their lives for our nation, the soldiers who risked their lives to rescue me, the professionals who served in the military medical department - they perform miracles every day to save lives. To me, these are heroes."
...but she has no problem with being a "Glamour Woman of the Year"?
For those who think J-L did anything brave, J-L was one of the "soldiers" who turned their trucks around when confronted by small arms enemy fire. The difference between those cowards and J-L is that J-L froze out of fear and was run over by the retreaters. The Iraqis took pity on her as she was laying alone, badly injured. The Iraqi medics did all they could to keep her alive and it seems they succeeded. In the context of war, surviving injuries esp. injuries caused by friendlys isn't "brave." It's lucky.

Oh... I guess the kind iraqnids had nothing to do with the evident rape trauma, eh?
Get over yourself, I would like to see how you behave in a real battle scenario. Until you are in a military hot zone, you should probably keep your ill-informed op-ed pieces in the recycle bin where they belong.

It is quite consistent with those like you who would rather promote their prejudices rather than justify them with rational inquiry. Fortunately, your entire unintelligent and sadly comical remarks' effects are hindered by your lack of knowledge of the issue and your lack of knowledge of the origins of the development of my opinions on this issue. Instead of writing more inane suggestive replies from ignorance, I recommend you focus on educating yourself through various resources freely available to you such as Colonel David H. Hackworth's website, the DefenseWatch newsletter, and the SFTT website.
Again, Larry Flynnt is right. Jessica Lynch is a "force-fed Joan of Arc" by the Bush administration. If you want to read about real heroes, read this.
By the way, the Iraqis are not our enemy.

Was she raped?
http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,3604,1082937,00.html
quote: The Iraqi doctors who treated the American soldier Jessica Lynch said yesterday that they were "pained" by accusations that she was raped sometime after being captured.
The doctors insisted that the claims, detailed in her biography, I Am a Soldier, Too: The Jessica Lynch Story, which was published yesterday, were untrue, and that examinations of her showed that she had not been sexually assaulted.
They say that she was so badly injured any such kind of assault would have killed her.

From the link DL posted, Larry Flynt said this about deciding not to publish the photos: quote: "Some things are more important than money," he said. "You gotta do the right thing."
Good for Larry! I have very few things good to say about him but I am tickled pink for his decision on this one
As for Lynch. Everyone wanting to make her some sort of icon is making me ultra sick to my stomach. This whole story has gotten far too much attention and I simply don't want to hear about it anymore. I am pleased she has been rescued but all of this hullabaloo is just ridiculous.

Is that a documented fact? Some source mentioned her car getting struck by an RPG... kinda funny, everyone has their own version of what happened to J-L lol.
This whole thing with her reminds me of the movie "Wag the Dog," where one of the deceptive elements was invention of Pfc. Shoeman who had been left behind and had to be saved.... very peculiar.

Most of the lies toted by the Bush administration about J-L Uh-oh! are corrected in her book "I Am A Soldier Too." The rescue was staged, she was never involved in a firefight because her weapon was jammed, she was not raped by Iraqi doctors, and military officials claim her Humvee was hit by an grenade and crashed into another vehicle (but how can you trust these "military officials" who were probably the same people that turned on the propaganda machine for the Bush administration?).
Ret. Col. Hackworth acknowledges that "his Army" has become incompetent. Unlike Marines who train with their weapon every day due to the motto that "we're soldiers (rifleman) first," the Army has had serious cutbacks in this last few decades. The Army used to train like the Marines. Such "skill maintenance" training is no longer required and not done. Why did the entire Army section that Pfc. Lynch was stationed with flee the battlefield when confronted by a small force of Iraqi rebels/soldiers? They hadn't enough weapons, lacked competence, and lacked confidence. It's easy to accept the lies put out to help the war effort along, but you just have to be skeptical.

Pfc. Miller was the real hero in Pfc. Lynch's platoon yet he has not been acknowledged. http://www.military.com/NewContent?file=Defensewatch_100303_Offley

Hmmm... why are Americans so desparately in need of heros..? since 9/11 tht word has been so abused and degraded and freely thrown around that it has lost all its power, meaning and value.
quote: Main Entry: he·ro
Pronunciation: 'hir-(")O, 'hE-(")rO
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural heroes
Etymology: Latin heros, from Greek hErOs
Date: 14th century
1 a : a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability b : an illustrious warrior c : a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities d : one that shows great courage.
I dont think there is anything at all heroic with whats going on out there...
