He's desperate. I know it's the wrong forum to put this in but....

Can you do him a 'line graph to show the rainfall in Brisbane over the past 12 months'.

PLEASE, coz nobody in my family could help him, even me...i just suck in Maths...so please help my seventh grade brother. Thanks in advance, my bro said.

'Tis simple, dear iconoclast...you know we're not going ot do people's homework for them round here...but to explain very simply how YOU can do it...here goes:

Get a sheet of graph paper, probably for a nice big graph I'd recommend a 5mm square. Turn the paper on its side so it's in landscape view (wider than it is tall). Every 5 squares is one month, so draw a line along the bottom 60 squares long, 2 lines up from the bottom of the page, and mark with a small line towards the bottom every 5 squares. Label each of these in turn with a month of the year (in order of course ). Then go to the Australia Bureau of Meteorology and get the total rainfall statistics for your area for each month, find the highest number out of the lot, and round it up to the nearest 5 (so if it's 43, it becomes 45, 112 is 115 and 98 is 100), we'll use this for the highest value your graph could possibly show. From there, using one square for every 5mm of rain, draw a line up the left side of your page, starting from the one your drew until you reached the correct number of squares (your highest value, rounded up and devided by 5). Mark off with a line to the left at the top of every square and label them 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. Now comes the graphing part. Moving right across the page, every 5 squares ( in other words above the mark for each month) put a dot at the correct height to correspond to the amount for that month (if it's in between an amount of 5, just estimate it). Do this for each month, then simply join the dots. Remember to make the dots nice and big, they're part of the graph too. Et viola! one line graph of rainfall.

Just work at it...you'll get it.

Hope this helps

And if your brother doesn't do his homework himself, he will suck in math just as you do.

As Skaarjj has ppointed out it is pretty easy - it is basically a U-shaped curve no? If someone can't draw that then there is no hope left for the world

And I would just like to point out that this isn't even really a math question. I mean, I know techincally speaking such things fall under "math" but....there's no math invovled.

Put a dot on the paper for each month, and connect the dots...

If in 7th grade that concept isn't understood, or at least explained well enough in class for your brother to do the assignment, I would sit down and have a big talk with the school board.

This is 3rd - 4th grade stuff here.

I'm not quite sure why this question is being posed here.
I am just wondering, you know... What made you think to
come to the asylum and ask us? I'm just curious.

Petskull, you're alive! *runs around in circles*
Sorry, that has nothing to do with this post, I just haven't been here in a while and we haven't talked in a while so I got overly happy... hehe
