Some of you fellow TOOL fans are probably aware that TOOL's sister site www.dissectional.com (devoted to the inspiration and art symbolism of tool) is one big puzzle waiting to be solved. But constantly trying to get deeper into that, you may be neglecting TOOL's original site with the news index of sorts.

Well, if you go to www.toolband.com and click on the left side of the brain, you'll notice a TV and a long meaty arm that stretches out to it on the left next to the news column. Move your mouse around in there some and you'll see three links, one of which leads to the La Magdala renne chapel experience, which is also an interesting read... But if the other two links lead to a crypto site designed in flash much like Dissectional. Moving the cursor into the TV gleeming off light a list of seven dates come up around the right.

The dates are:

11.23.1991
4.19.1943
8.29.1966
12.12.2000
10.12.1875
5.23.1951
4.17.2001

I've already found an obvious reference to 10.12.1875, it was the birth date of Aleister Crowley.
While I'm still searching these dates, I'm having a hard time turning up relevant material. I was wondering if anyone else would like to journey with me beyond this mystery . It's obvious that through album art and their website that TOOL has a habbit of completely freaking out the minds of their fans, but I think they like to open the minds of their fans as well. Does this interest anyone else?

Hey InSiDeR, i was at Dissectional the other day and noticed this. Kind of strange. At first glance I was very confused and wondered what the hell it even was.

Yeah, I'll chip in and see if I can gather any info on some of these dates. Would be cool. Kind of taking me back to my many research nights in the library as a young music student in college....ah memories........

<update>

Well here are some that I have found that seem fitting:

November 23, 1991.
A day before he dies, Freddie Mercury, 45, confirms he has AIDS

Monday, April 19, 1943
On April 19, 1943 the destruction of the Warsaw Ghetto and the extermination of the remaining Jewish population, depleted by
transports to the death camp at Treblinka, began. Units of SS stormed the Ghetto under the command of General Stroop. Unexpectedly,
Jewish resistance was strong and it took more than a month for the Germans to subdue the Warsaw Ghetto.

August 29, 1966

Beatles last public concert (Candlestick Park, SF)

April 17, 2001
doubtful this is what they are refering to but this is the day that Barry Bonds hit is 500th home run

December 12, 2000
A divided U.S. Supreme Court reversed a state court decision for recounts in Florida's contested election, effectively transforming
George W. Bush into the president-elect. (The high court agreed, 7-to-2, to reverse the Florida court's order of a state recount and
voted 5-to-4 that there was no acceptable procedure by which a timely new recount could take place.)

May 23, 1951
can't find anything relative for this date. Only thing I could find was that Peter Ustinov's "Love of Four Colonels" premiered in London.

Just a public service warning... the thing site takes over your whole screen and doesn't allow you to alt+tab out of it. I had to alt-f4 the sucker.

Sorry, nothing else to contribute.

I had found information on The Beetles and the Warsaw Ghetto but I wasn't sure if they were the events that were relevant.

I had also found that many composers died on a few of those dates..

Interesting stuff we have here.

Suho just get the .swf file from the source and type it in a window, then it won't max out your screen.

Well, I don't see why not. It's kind of "cryptic" as to what the dates are referring to anyway

The "thing site"? hehe. and you won first prize. Eigh, just kidding. Yeah, that was something that kind of bothered me too. Anyway........I still can't find anything in reference to 4.17.2001.
