Seen a few sites that seem to know where I am, geographically, and tailor their banner ads to my specific city (or state, sometimes).

I suspect they have scripts that can do a whois lookup for the OrgName and City based on my IP address.

Anyone know where I can find something like this? I've given it a couple o' goes, but I think I need to borrow for this one...

Hi,
the answer lies in GeoIp localization. It can be a 'simple' ip-to-country or something with a little more rich like this. Notice that there's certainly some concurents offering the same kind of services but now you've got a starting point

Hope that helps,

VisualRoute is a popular tool for that too: http://visualroute.visualware.com/
