yeah sounds pretty rough being away from your fiance- how long will you bew away? Can your fiance move with you? I guess you have to go where the job/money is- your top priority, and everything else takes 2nd place- stinks but like you said- its life. Here in the States your situation is common. Jobs are resurfacing but still scare- people picking up their lives to moving to the area where $ is. |

thanks everyone well in a few days i turn 40 and i had to make a decision about what i wanted in life, this offer was too good to refuse.. unfortunately,, here in this part of holland (axle) in zeeland, accomodation is scarce and very expensive but it wil be subsidised a bit by my employer for while.. the bad news is my fiancee is the branch manager of a large clothing retailer in brno in the czech republic, and they require a minimum of two months notice... so it will be a while before she can join me, and it will be impossible for me to go back there in between times.. |

Tom i just looked on the map too see where axel lies. It turned out to be close to the border with belgium. I guess this is your axle... If you look at the zoomed out image you see that both Gent and Antwerpen are less then 40 km from axel. And i know in belgium the housing problem is not that big as in in holland. So you might get a better home across the border. Anyway good luck with the new job. |

Good luck with the new venture Tom. I sympathise with you over the separation. My gradaughter was born while I was in Nigeria on a 3 year stretch, I didn't get to see her until my next leave, when she was already 5 months old. On the upside though, there's nothing like travel to broaden the mind, and living in a new place is s much better than just visiting. |

You are speaking about birthday, however could you tell me what about your work language and if you take language class. When I was in berlin i take some language class however situation in Berlin is "deteriorated" since the reunification Berlin is invade by some East citizen grow in the GDR dictatorship as a result of a general degradation of the "life quality" in general. And language class quality was suffering too. |

We lived in Amsterdam for 7 months when I was 2 (uh... 1975-76). I don't remember much about it except for the orange shag rug... it's probably just about all I saw! I would love to go back for a visit sometime, my parents remember the country very fondly. It was when my dad worked for IBM (stands for "I've Been Moved) and because he is fluent in German (which is similar to Dutch), they sent him there for a time. |
