Man - if this had happened in the US, it would have been ALL OVER the news! There'd be movements started to ban kite flying as a deadly activity... |

wire? people use wire to fly their kites? whatever happened to cord? the only wire i've seen is used by those trying to cut the line of other kite flyers.. sounds like an outrageous festival, guns and flying kites from out in the streets.. whew |

In my country, every now and then, someone dies while riding a motorbike, because some jerk left, usually intentionally, the string of a kite, full of very small pieces of glass glued to the string, making it a deadly weapon, tied to some trees. The guy in the motorcycle usually has his throat cut by the string. |

They should deal with the problem the way we do in the 'free' 'democracies'. |

or maybe they should just ban guns and sell more nylon string. that would help the situation. Steel wire altho very thin and can withold lots of force, is very dangerous even if ure not using it to fly kites. I had my fun with it when we used it instead of the fishing line on enertial (ones that keeps spinning after the weight drops into water) reels. There if u dont know how to control the reel properly, it's very easy to come home without fingers. |

I love flying kites. I never realized they could be that hazardous though. Yikes! |

Kite strings can be a little dangerous sometimes. I remember in my country [The Philippines] people would mix glue with glass to make strings more tougher, but yes, they can cut your fingers. |
