Topic awaiting preservation: Good Free Bloggers?

I'm looking for a good website that allows you to create free blogs.

... and just in case any of you happen to use them, how is Livejournal (http://www.livejournal.com/) compared to BlogSpot (http://www.blogspot.com/)?

Ideas, anyone?

Well, I can't speak for live journal, but blogspot is great

Your entire blog is totally customisable, down to layout and markup and everything. I run a blog on there at http://insane-o-matic.blogspot.com and I'm having a good time. I highly recommend them.

Livejournal is very limited unless you pay for the more advanced features, but it's good if you want to blog in a community like context with other friends who already have a livejournal weblog.

the two best I've seen yet is b2 and wordpress . Both free. Open source. Meets webstandards......

I think maybe Nocturne means a blog site that will also host your blog for you.
