Topic awaiting preservation: Where to start?

I have been wanting to make a website but I just cant seem to get started. I drew a full lay out and I know what I want to do But I just cant seem to do it. I have sat infront of photoshop for 2 hours trying to make a navigation bar and I cant do it. I have never made a website before but a webpage in notepad. I dont know how to do a layout in photoshop Im confused....

It's a difficult question, normally I sketch first what I want, and the I find out the resources to do it.
Do you want an interface? What kind of interface do you want?
You need at least an Idea! Got me?

Thanks, When Im done reading over that site I will find the drivers for my scanner and scan in my layout I drew =)

(We'll wait to move this thread, I'm not sure whether it's going to be more about Photoshop or HTML when it gets going)

Huh?

Change your screens resolution to 800x600.
Minimise all windows, but keep the Ozone Asylum open.
Hit Print Screen on your keyboard.
Open Photoshop.
File New -> Enter -> Cntrl+V
Take rectangular selection tool, and select the whole of the Asylum (but not the browser).
New Layer
Fill with your choice of background colours (web-safe pallette).
Merge Layers together.

Now you have a blank canvas to start working on. OK, so you're drawing it all in PS, but at all times try to think about which parts of your design (background colour / text / boxes / layout) can be achieved with your HTML.

THATS IT!
