I"m trying to come up with a way to create a long line of pictures. Only one picture can be seen at a time, but when someone clicks on a button the pictures shift in that direction revealing a different picture while hiding the one that was visible at first.

I think that Scuttlebutt's site uses something like what you are looking for. May want to contact him and see if he has any tips. His site is http://www.everchangingart.com

I wouldn't steal the code unless he gives you persmisson to use it though.

Ensabanur, I'm working on a site that does this with it's main content pages. Check out http://www.stephenulangca.com/

Thomas Brattli also had a free script that did this. I can't remember where to find it on his site but I have a crude operating version here: http://osiris.bugimus.com/photos/victoria/scroller.html

The idea is to have a nested div. The outer div has it clipping set to the right size and the overflow set to hidden. Then all you have to do is reposition the inner div to wherever you want.

Bugs - That http://www.stephenulangca.com/ example is pretty damned cool. I think I might look through that see how you did that if you don't mind. This is almost identical to an idea I have.....

Very sweet!

By all means. It's not without it's quirks but I'm working on those.
