Topic awaiting preservation: Redirection without a trace

Ok. So basically what i am trying to do is to have a page redirect to another
page but do it without a trace.
for example have:
1. user clicks on a link on page 1 to go to page 2
2. page 2 redirects to page 3
3. when the user clicks the back button on page 3 they go to page 1.

The reason I ask is because if they clicked back to go to page 1, they would
actually be going to page 2. Since page 2 is a redirect is causes them to just
get sent back to page 3.

Basically I just need the javascript for a discrete redirect as the server does
not have php/asp/ect...
