I am working on learning dHTML. I have done some stuff but I am a little confused on something. I don't want someone to do it for me, I want to learn it.

You can see from my post here that I have done a very simple layer moving thingy (it works better now). What I am wondering is this:

If I have two (or more) layers, and want the links to determine which layer has moved and then if it is a different layer, move it back and then move the second layer. Does that make sense? Kind of like a menu that Doc used on his new project (can't find the link to study the code).

Better explination might be that I have 2 layers each with their own link. So I click on one link and that coresponding layer moves. If I click the second link, the first layer moves back and the second layer moves.

So, how do I determine this? Do I set up a flag that sets a variable to TRUE and if that is the case. . . Like I said, I am getting a little confused.

Thanks in advance.

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.

Ini: yes it does make sense. The idea of a "global timeout" is something that I need to work on. I remember a link to one of Doc's scripts that you posted at Guru's that kind of demonstrated this.

Need to look over that again. Sometimes Doc's scripts confuse the hell out of me.

I will work on it a little more and then if I have a problem then I will post a link to a page.

Well during my babble, you have given me some great info. Thanks for that.

I will be working on this quite a bit since I have nothing better to do in my spare time

Thanks again!

Thanks again for the info. I do use a global object function. Certainly takes a lot of the needless code out.

quote:
I mean, given the above structure, a global animation function for several layers
and different movements is a piece of cake.

It's easy once you know
