Topic awaiting preservation: Pixel Hell... (Page 1 of 1)

I had a problem arise with my site... Seems a viewer came to my site with less than a 800x600 res, and the site was too big.
Also, if you visit my site with a high res then it looks really small. I know that you can size objects by using %.

But the problem is the images are made in pixels. Would writing a res detection script and having different res graphics load be the best way to
fix this?

buddylee: People using something lower than 800x600 are an endangered species. It don't really think it's worth to bother for those prehistoric viewers, anyway you can set the size of your images in percentages too or make a stylesheets switcher in Javascript. Honestly I think you'd better to explain your poor lonesome viewer how to change the resolution of his computer.

3 years ago, in my ex-company, we were already not supporting the yet endangered species. Even the laptops at the time were set up in 800x600. On the other side, 3 months ago that same company was still supporting v4 browsers.
