This *really* cool coming-into-focus effect that this website and the other three websites connected to it use to shift from one webpage to another one: How do I do this?

Also, how do I control how much "shifting" occurs?

I am still a webmaster of intermediate skill so I did try and check the coding but wasn't sure which part was which.

THanks!

Sounds like page transitions to me - it's an IE proprietry thing so it's use isn't really recommended.

Do a Google search on "page transitions" and see what you get.

Can I make a suggestion tho, "cool effects" aren't really the things that make a website good - in fact "cool effects" can have completely the opposite effect and just look cheap and nasty. Considering your previous thread too I would advise some caution so that you don't over do the effects.

However, JavaScript is fun to learn - I know since for the past year I have been slowly learning. It can do some fun and weird and wacky things so I don't want to spoil your enjoyment of such things. I do recommend learning how it all works tho, cut and paste scripts are usually the sort of scripts that are best avoided. When I was a n00b in this forum a guy (Dracusis I think it may have been) told me to start with the basics and write my own code from the ground up asking questions as I found problems along the way. At the time this was unnappreciated advice since I didn't have time to spend learning anything first - but now I'm a little way down that line I realise that it is the best way to do things.

This is interesting. Page transitions, eh? I just Googled and got plenty of information.

You're right, I'm probably better off to use special effects judiciously. I"ll keep that in mind.

Thanks!
