Topic awaiting preservation: Creating classy picture frames (Page 1 of 1)

I have pictures of some paintings, and I need to create really classy frames for them. Frames that you would find in museums - wooden and golden ones.
I have no clue how to do that, however I do have the PhotoFrame 2.5 plugin, and I tried playing around with it, but it seems it can only do the basic stuff, and can't make fancy frames.
Please be as detailed as possible,

Sorry, but I can`t think of an easy way to do that. I`d start with a square frame, then build up the details in layers. I would use the pen tool to make selections and fill them with gadients, or paint the shadows and highlights in on 1/2 of the frame, then merge a copy, and flip.

Yep, I have to agree - there's no easy way to do that.
The best options, IMO, are

1) Painting by hand

2) Finding a free source for photos of such frames and modifying them to your tastes.

You'll find that although the filters and plugins for Photoshop can do wondrous things sometimes, there is often no substitute for getting in there and getting your hands dirty - using the Pen, Paintbrush, and Pencil tools.
