Topic awaiting preservation: Interesting Glass Spheres

Well most people decide that they want to do a trendy glass sphere (which is majorly over done) and I'm one of those people. Being my first post, all in all, I thought I'd share a little info on an interesting post method I've found... (If this is posted in the wrong place, sorry - delete it and move it somewhere else).

First step is to create a relatively large document, such as 500x500 px. RGB Colors, 72 dpi.

Secondly, create a 105 mm prime lens flare in the upper left hand corner of the document. (Filter>Render>Lens Flare>105 mm Prime) Make sure that the main part of the halo doesn't get cut off completely, or otherwise this will ruin the effect. Give it a good spacing from the boarders of the document.

Thirdly, do a polar to rectangular "Polar Coordinates" Distort. (Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates)

Next, Image>Resize>Flip Vertically.

Finally, do another Polar Coordinates, except for this time Rectangular to Polar. (Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates)

Viola. I hope to soon post an image to accompany the tutorial... I actually have had a couple good turnouts with this. If anyone has a good website that will host your images for free with high bandwidth, lemme know.
