Topic awaiting preservation: Photoshop 8

Well I saw someone saying that it was about time for 8 to come out. Just out of interest... when does Adobe usually release their new versions of Photoshop? About every Sept? Lookin forwards to buying a copy. (And for those who are interesed on how I did my sig, that was with a trial version which is legal.)

if your looking to buy a copy cheaper try getting either an old version cheap and then upgrading to the newest version... or if your going to school Adobe has student prices and the educational versions are full versions that simply say "for educational purposes only" on the splash screen and if upgraded that goes away.

I bought PS6 off of ebay for $125, and then did the upgrade to 7. for $150. Not a bad way to go if you are willing to buy off ebay. Just make sure the person you are buying from is reputable.

This place is awesome, you just need to show some type of proof that you are either a student, instructor, whatevers related to a school.
They sell pretty much every app you'd probably want. I just purchased VEGAS DVD through a school that I do consulting at and it retails
for over $800 and I picked it up for $289 with a firewire card!

Yeah... I was hoping to pick up a student... But then I heard summat from one of the guys in the fourms about it being time for Adobe to come out with another one... So I was hoping to buy the full version at half price and then upgrade later when it became profitable.

Still... any clues about when they're gonna release? This month? By December? By next year? o.o

yeah in one of the magazines they had stuff on Illustrator 11 as well... supposed to have 3d capabilities better than freehand.
and I expect photoshop 8 will be just as impressive.

just remeber, usually you're not allowed to use student versions for commercial work.
(though who of us is lucky enough to sell his art ;-))

I've also heard RAW and jpeg2000 file format support will be included, which is why I haven't bought the plugin. Oh, and they might suprise us with high bit filter goodness too.
