My personal experience (lately I've won a webdesign contest in my region, and I was rewarded by an edition of Photoshop Elements) plus such contests seem to indicate that Adobe's policy is to encourage and reward creative graphists and webdesigners. It is a very good news in my opinion : there is a future in these fields.

I made a quick bookmark design for fun... but I am not going to enter, I used a photo for the top-right part.

MS: Thats great- enter it (unless the photo is agaist the rules - they could always clear its ue if you won).

[edit: On ethought - the typography in the main panel could do with tweaking. Pos. start off small and close together and getting larger and wider towards the bottom?]

It is said on their website : "All bookmarks must be original designs created by the entrant. Some clip-art may be used, but winners must certify that Bookpool LLC retains all rights to the bookmark designs containing the clip-art without payments to the clip-art owner. Winners will need to document where the clip-art came from, and under what terms it was used."

This photo isn't, to the best of my knowledge, copyrighted, so I can use it. However, I don't know if using a photo will be considered like an original design.

Anyway, I've modified my picture according to your comment, and I'll submit it for the fun - if I can find any submission form.

Is this contest open to anyone, including non-US residents?

It's been a while since I've fired up photoshop for somehing like this.

Thanks for your replies. You can use photos in your design entries as long as they follow our specifications for the use clip art. Best if your photo are original! Your creativity is what this is all about. I found your forum through either goole or excite. BTW, the software prizes are full versions of new relases, The Creative CS Suite, Photoshop CS, InDesign.
The contest is open to non-US citizens. We have entries now from all over the world.
