WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A 'CLEAR FIELDS' BUTTON?

Okay. On to the show.

Let's assume you'll want to make an animation with 8 frames. Since a full rotation is 360 degrees, the A should turn 360/8=45 degrees each frame.

I assume you already have a layer with the A on it. Copy the layer 7 times, so you'll have 8 layers. I'll call those layer 1 to layer 8.

Since there's no 'magical rotation button' in imageready, you'll have to rotate each layer for each frame. Layer one is for the rotation of 0º, so that one stays as it is. Use transform (CTRL-T or click image>transform (possibly layer>transform)) to rotate the A on layer 2 45º, rotate layer 3 90º, and so on, until you've done the last layer.

Now, open the frames palette in imageready, and make sure you have 8 frames. (use the button that looks like 'new layer' to create additional frames)

Make sure only layer 1 is visible in frame 1, layer 2 in frame 2 and so on.

This should be everything you need. if it doesn't work, or if you need more help, post again.

And don't worry too much about your English. It's good.

I'm going to assume, based on the wording of the request, that what Mahjqa has said is not actually what you are looking for.

However, if I am right, what you want can't really be done (at least not very well, and not without a boatload of hand work) in Photoshop/Image ready.

I am assuming you want this letter to rotate on its vertical axis, rather than the horizontal?

If that's the case, you'll want a 3D app.

I'm actually going to disagree with DL here. The effect *can* be achieved and in a few mins hopefully I can prove it.

If not, DL can razz me for disagreeing.

Ok, here's what I came up with:

and here's the same thing with the guides I used

It's not perfect (it looks as if it's zooming in and out) but it should suffice. Actually, I want to make it not zoom in and out.. I'll be back.

Basically, I just changed the perspective and width/height of each frame. Not a buttload of handwork, but it's not perfect yet either...

Ah screw it. I think the height in each frame just needs to be tweaked some more. But the point is, it only required about 5 minutes of work to do. So you're wrong, DL, WRONG!

However, Tude, if you were looking for some kind of bevel (aka 3Dness) then yes, that WOULD take a crapload of work and would probably be easier to do in a 3D application.

So just to recap, DL is a failure at life, and I win. :P

Ahem:

That part you did in fact prove beyond a doubt.

Thank you.

{edit -

but basically, what you've failed to do there is properly adjust the perspective in relation to the object rotating on a fixed point.

You've made the part that is going further away from you smaller, but you've failed to make the part that would be turning closer to you larger.

That is why it looks like it is drifting away from you while it turns.

Xara 3D , http://www.xara.com , is a quick solution to what you may want... Unless you wanted to rotate the other way.

This is only a couple minutes to do, upload, and post.

Hopefully you saw the gif before my host crapped out...

XARA 3D is strictly text, and its default save is flash.swf. But it does allow for exporting of animations as gif's. Once the gif is created, it shouldnt be difficult to extract the individual frames.

When I opened my A.gif in Image Ready it has 30 frames to work with, of course when exporting from XARA I could have just as easily used less frames. I just pretty much left the defaults.
