i googled them and searched them on Adobe.com and nothing came up...have you tried renaming them and/or deleteing them? If you delete them do they return when you restart Photoshop? Maybe they are temp files...

well, if you notice, they have never been modified since they were placed there by someone who works for adobe. i did not even have this software (no one did, except adobe) in september of 2003. so they're not cache files or anything. i was thinking someone would be able to identify them by their icon. i mean, that one is 1.9MB. that's a pretty big file to have no idea what it is.

thanks for all the help so far!

Well... google comes up with....
http://www.carijansen.com/tips/005/005.html

Exported File Browser cache files. You can throw them onto a burnt CD to speed up access. A cookie for Copey....

well, thanks for that link, but that's not it.
i did find the folder he was refering to in

/Library/Application Support/File Browser/Photoshop7

and i see all the files in there. that's not what i am refering to.
the three files i am wondering about are located in

/Library/Applications/PhotoshopCS/Goodies/Stock Art

and they have not been modified since the application was created in the Adobe headquarters. like i said, they are all dated 9/12/03, before PhotoshopCS was even released.

thanks for all your help!
