My photoshop ver 7 help files are experiencing tech difficulties. When I select the help menu button a bunch of gibberish pops up in a note pad file with a blank internet explorer page beneath it. What gives? What irony...I need help for my help files! Any ideas?

Clear the cache. Reboot your comp.
That's worked for me in the past.

Thanks for the input...but it begs the question: How does one "clear the cache"???

Perhaps WJ means: Edit -> Purge -> All. Not realy sure thought.

Although, I have issues with PS 7 spawning help windows for no apparent reason (mostly when I open sub windows for the layer styles or colour pickers and stuff). Once it got caught in some horrid loop that whenever I closed the help browser, it spawned another one or two windows. Couldn't even get back to PS to save my work as whever I switched the window in the task bar it'd spawn and focus on another help window!

The edit-purge is greyed out. Can it be something else or somewhere else?

Cameron, when I was doing a Google search for this problem I ran across several references to the problem you're describing. It seems to be causing trouble for other folks too.
