I just find them pointless. You can do includes with javascript, php, perl, etc and it still does pretty much the same thing for most purposes. Except that it's a little harder using frames to do certain things like have a navigation menu with drop down (because the drop down would have to be on one side of the frame or the other since they're not technically the same window). Personally, I think it's just easier to have everything in one window using the same resources than having to write the frame name and location of a variable that is in a frame when you want to use it in a different one. There are still uses for frames, but I'm hard pressed to think of any off hand. |

Not to mention that links to direct pages (when they get spidered) within the frameset now aren't using the frames. So the site falls apart unless you build in detection/correction. |
