Hi, I am doing tutorial from www.w3schools.com .
I found following:

<html>
<head>
<title>Hello, World</title>
</head>
<body>
Hi, this is from New Zealand.
</body>
</html>

By the way, what does <title>tag do? The between <title>tag will be displayed browser's caption??? What is that? I thought browser's caption is the left bottom corner of the browser. But it showed just "done" when I opened my html file in it.

Would you know something about this?????

Hiroki it goes in the title bar on the top of your browser ^^^^

What you are referring to is the status bar.

The text in the left-bottom of the browser window is the Status (the bar at the bottom being the Status Bar).

The text at the top left of the browser window is the Title - the bar at the top being the Title Bar.

The title should be just that - a title for the webpage.

Hi, Bitdamaged! Hi, DL!!! Thanks a lot. I found it appered on top left corner. Thanks a lot.

Well, I am redoing HTML tutorial to make sure I can hand coding basic staff. I will do CSS and XHTML sections as well. After that I want to do DHTML and XML.

Anyway, thanks a lot.

Remember also that the page title is what shows up in search-engine results, so the title for every page should be clear and specific.

I can't stand getting a result that says "Home Page." Or even worse, "Default Title."
